Welcome!

Oh, Hi there!

I’m not quite sure how you found you way into my happy little corner of the internet but, whatever brought you, welcome!

Before we get started, I should introduce myself. I’m R. In a little more detail, I’m a recent graduate of Colorado State University, a freelance writer, and aspiring author. My BA is in Creative Writing with a second field in History, and I did a good amount of sociology course work out of pure interest. None of which directly qualifies me to do anything but think, write, and speak critically about life the universe and everything. I’m not an authority in anything, and hopefully won’t ever consider myself to be.

I’m a thinker. And the thing about thinking is that you can always be wrong.

What will you find, you ask? Well, most simply you will find my general musings and reactions to the world. More specifically, I’m interested in politics, in socio-economic inequality, and history, although I’m afraid I’m a poor historian. I like patterns and implications and tracing the themes of our culture through time, but I’m far too concerned with the present to do any of these things well.

I’m also interested in language and how we use it and how that usage shapes how we speak think and act.

Lastly, you may find some of my creative work, and occasionally information about where you can find the other work I’m doing.

You’re welcome to take a look around if you like, but don’t complain to me if you don’t find what you’re looking for. It’s rather like wands you see… if the blog doesn’t fit you can’t make it work no matter what you do.
